These images were taken on Bayou Courtableau in St Landry Parish, Louisiana near Port Barre right off 190. It is a town steeped in Louisiana bayou charm where Cajun French meets English to create a language known to the locals and seems unchanged to me since childhood; although, my dad speaks of all the many changes that have shaped it to what I see today. The only way to access many of the camps is by boat, typically a well-worn aluminum fishing boat with no bells and whistles. I went yesterday to meet my dad for the day and enjoy the Annual Rabbit Cook-off.
